Iowa City is inviting Iowa-based artists to submit artwork for exhibition at its Historic Post Office Gallery.
The gallery, hosted at the Iowa City Senior Center (ICSC) in collaboration with the City's Public Art Program, is seeking art to be displayed July through August, as well as September through October, 2026.
Those interested in having their work displayed should fill out the online application form and review the Historic Post Office Gallery's website.
The deadline to apply is 8 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026.
About the Gallery
This newly formalized gallery program features two exhibition spaces in the ICSC:
- The Main Gallery in the Assembly Room, the heart of the Downtown ICSC building.
- The Top Floor Gallery, a bright corridor connecting the parking garage to program rooms.
Exhibitions rotate approximately every two months, providing ongoing opportunities for artists to share their work with a diverse, intergenerational audience.
A separate call for artists will be issued later in the year for a special two-month "New & Emerging Artist Mentorship Exhibition", designed for first-time or early-career exhibitors. Artists may choose to apply to one or both calls.
