The Iowa City Senior Center is once again partnering with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program to offer free, in-person tax preparation services for the 2026 tax season. Services are available from early February through mid-April and are open to the public.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides free federal and Iowa state income tax preparation and electronic filing, with a focus on individuals age 50 and older and those with low-to-moderate income. No AARP membership is required to participate.
All Tax-Aide volunteers are IRS-certified annually and trained to understand current tax laws, credits, and deductions, helping eligible taxpayers file accurate returns and maximize potential refunds.
