The City of Iowa City is proud to sponsor the African Festival of Arts and Culture, to be held from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, in the Downtown Iowa City Ped Mall.

The festival celebrates the continent's diversity of cultures and the people who have come from Africa to make the Iowa City area their home.

The celebration features the Parade of Nations fashion show, a performance by the 16-piece musical group Afroband243, additional dance and musical performances, food, art vendors, and more. 

The festival is perfect for all ages! There is no cost to attend; vendors will be selling goods and food at the festival.
