After delays associated with the relocation of private utilities, work has continued this summer on the Court Street Reconstruction Project. Phasing for the 2025 and 2026 construction seasons has been updated to reflect those delays.

Weather permitting, construction on Court Street is planned to be completed through South Seventh Avenue by the end of this construction season. Ongoing work includes the anticipated completion of the joint utility trench and undergrounding of private utility lines. Muscatine Avenue at Court Street is also expected to be fully reopened by the close of this construction season.

At this time, the 2026 construction season is anticipated to begin with work on Court Street immediately east of its intersection with South Seventh Avenue.

Thoma's Meat Market remains accessible, but will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 4, during work that will impact water service.
