The 2026 Juneteenth Celebration will start at 1 p.m. with an opening ceremony on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the South District Market Parking Lot, 925 Hwy 6 East. This year’s theme — “Juneteenth Brings Balance to America’s Celebration of Freedom." This event is free and open to the public. Sponsors are Black Voice Project, Dream City, Royceann’s Soul Food, City of Iowa City, Teamsters Local 238, Deus Entertainment, and Think Iowa City.
