These facilities have closed: City Hall, the Iowa City Public Library, City Park Pool, the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center, the Animal Care and Adoption Center, as well as Parks and Recreation's Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, Mercer Park Aquatic Center/Scanlon Gym, Terry Trueblood Lodge, and Ned Ashton House. They will be closed from Sunday, March 15, 2020, until further notice. The City continues to monitor COVID-19's impact, and will review opening facilities as this develops.
Iowa City Water Distribution crews will be flushing hydrants on and around Walden Court, Walden Road, Ranier Drive, Rushmore Drive, McKinley Place, Clearwater Court, Irving Avenue, Shannon Drive, Duck Creek Drive, Foxana Drive, Quail Valley Court, Goldenrod Drive, Village Road, Jaimie Lane, and Sterling Drive.

Burlington Street, from Riverside Drive to Madison Street is closed to through traffic from Monday, April 13th until Friday, June 5th. A detour route is posted utilizing Riverside Drive, Highway 6, and Gilbert Street. This closure is necessary to facilitate railroad crossing improvements for the Burlington and Madison Intersection Improvements Project.
