The Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center is a department of the City of Iowa City and has been serving older adults, age 50 and above, since 1981. Located in a beautifully restored historic old post office on the corner of Linn and Washington Streets in downtown Iowa City, Iowa, the Center offers a full array of classes, activities and volunteer opportunities which support independence and encourage involvement in and with the community.

With the help of its members, the mission of the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center is to provide residents of Johnson County who are over 50 years of age opportunities to participate in lifelong learning experiences and access to services that promote wellness, community involvement, and personal growth.
