Assault

The Iowa City Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred around 2:15am, on Saturday, May 3rd, in the 500 blk of E Burlington St, near the L&M Might Shop. The victim was transported by ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals where he’s being treated for injuries to the upper body. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator Clarahan at 319-356-5275, or the Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

Sexual Assault - Burglary

On Sunday April 6th at approx. 02:45, Officers responded to the 400 Blk. of North Dubuque Street reference an assault. Upon arrival, Officers met the female victim who indicated that an unknown male had entered her residence and assaulted her. The victim described the suspect as a White Male in his 30's, between 5'10 and 6' tall, approximately 160 lbs, with short dark hair and goatee. He was last seen wearing a gray long sleeve shirt with a white T- shirt underneath and dark jeans. The subject was last seen running westbound from the 400 blk of N. Dubuque Street. The victim was treated and released at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Burglary at Iowa City Landfill

On March 19, 2008 the Iowa City Landfill Office was broken into and a safe removed with a dolly. It appears at this time that the safe and dolly may have been recovered by Cedar County SO. In the safe at the time of the burglary were eleven Power Ball tickets, cash and checks. The suspect in the attached photograph signed and cashed in all eleven Power Ball tickets at the Kwik Shop located at 3301 J Street SW, Cedar Rapids on March 20, 2008. The tickets were recovered from the trash. The suspect (Circled) was the passenger in a black SUV. He was with a shorter white, male with brown or blond hair. Does anyone recognize this person? ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY

On 11-3-06 at 2:24am the victim exited the back door of Wendy's Restaurant on South Riverside Drive. He entered his vehicle and was approached by an unknown person who attempted to rob him.

The suspect was described as a black male, early 20's, 6'0" tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing dark pants and a black hooded sweatshirt, the hood pulled over his head. The suspect was armed with a handgun.
