Sidewalk Snow Complaints

The Iowa City sidewalk snow removal complaint web site lists all properties in Iowa City for which snow removal complaints have been registered. This list contains no information concerning the investigation of these complaints. If you wish to determine if an inspector has investigated the complaint and what action was taken, go to our online permit search, type in the address of the property in the address field and hit “Search”. Look for a complaint case labeled “COM09” for cases started in December of 2009 or “COM10” for cases started after January 1, 2010. The description field will indicate which complaint cases are for snow removal. If there is no case, then an inspector has not yet investigated the complaint. Please remember that when inspectors go out to investigate a specific address, they will also check the entire frontage from intersecting street to intersecting street. So even if a specific address is not on the complaint list, a property on the same frontage will also be tagged if it is in violation. To register a complaint, call 319-356-5152.
