Why the Redesign?
If this is your first visit to ICgov.org, we hope you find our online services and abundance of public information useful. However, if you’ve visited our website in the past, you’ve undoubtedly noticed some changes. Some may even wonder why the effort was made to redesign the site.
One year ago an online survey of the former ICgov.org site revealed we weren’t doing a very good job of promoting all the good things this community has to offer. Many other people thought that the former home page was very “cluttered” and too “busy”. Therefore, you will find more photos which reveal the beauty of this community and how we worked to achieve a cleaner more modern look to the pages.
Others said it was difficult to find information and navigation was not intuitive. Our new website features helpful drop-down menus to ensure you get to the information you’re looking for with as few clicks as possible. You will also find font size adjustment controls so even the visually impaired can read the fine print. We aren’t stopping there either.
In an ongoing effort to achieve web compliance standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as well as ADA accessibility requirements, we have reshaped our website to enhance navigability for all of our citizens, visitors and other interested parties, certainly not to exclude those with disabilities.
The web is a very fluid medium with ever-changing technology and a constant push to improve upon the standards of the past. We look forward to continuing our efforts to shape our website into the resource you may want it to be. Do you have any comments or suggestions about our continuing online efforts? Please feel free to contact our web development team.
